I joined KNWT in the Fall of 2020. My first job was working for Channel 8 News. This show provides news coverage on the Northwest Missouri State University campus and in the Maryville community. I eventually took over as the producer for the show towards the end of the Spring 2021 semester and still hold this position to this date. ProLife ProChoice Story

On January 31, 2021 students here at Northwest Missouri State University along with members of the community gathered outside of the Fine Arts building to march for their beliefs on the ongoing political debate of abortion.

Sigma Society Car Smash Story

The month of October is known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and many organizations nationwide host a multitude of unique events to support those who are fighting this awful disease. In fact, the Sigma Society and University Police Department here at Northwest host an event called the Sigma Society Car Smash that encourages people to take a swing against breast cancer.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

On Saturday, March 13th, of this year, members across Nodaway County flooded North Market Street in a sea of green to celebrate the 34th annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade started at 3:17 PM and was led by local healthcare workers and first responders as this year’s grand marshals to show appreciation and thank them for their endless services during the COVID pandemic.

Rising Gas Prices Story

Now we are just a few months into the year 2021 and out of these 3 months so far we have started to see a rise in fuel prices all across the nation. In fact, some places are raising their prices faster than others. I went around and asked the citizens of Maryville as well as the students here at Northwest their thoughts on the new fuel prices and how they were adjusting to them.
